Ability: Cure - Well, it isn't spectacular, but he can cure the Legacy Virus (the virus that is killing everyone) with his blood.
Age:
A genetics professor from India who pursues his father after his disappearance only to discover a theory kept a secret - people with enhanced abilities, "super powers", live among us.
Known Relatives: Chandra Suresh (father, deceased), Mrs. Suresh (mother), and Shanti Suresh (sister, deceased. Died at the age of 5, when Mohinder was 2.)
What We Know
Episode 1x01 - "Origins"
- Mohinder's father was conducting research on people around the world with enhanced ablities.
- After his father's death, Mohinder moves to New York and into his father's old apartment to continue his work.
- Mohinder takes up a job driving a taxi to pay the rent.
- Gives taxi ride to Peter Petrelli who asks "do you think some people are special".
- Gives taxi ride to HRG (Horned Rimmed Glasses). When HRG lets on that he knows who Mohinder is, Mohinder quickly jumps out of the taxi and runs away.
Episode 1x02 - "Don't Look Back"
- Mohinder enters his father's appartment and finds a man dressed as an exterminator, but Mohinder sees some electronics down by the baseboard. The exterminator was planting a bug so Mohinder confronts him and a fight insues.
- The exterminator pulls a gun on Mohinder in the hallway, but Mohinder knocks it to the floor and a woman picks it up. The exterminator then runs away.
- Mohinder and Eden Mackenzie introduce themselves.
- Mohinder learns that Eden knew Chandra, his father.
- Mohinder discovers that his father had created a computer program to help track the "special people".
- Mohinder and Eden hear a message on Chandra's answering machine from Sylar in which he says that he has stopped trying to control his "hunger".
Episode 1x03 - "One Giant Leap"
- Mohinder Suresh, looking haggard from lack of sleep, pounds at a laptop, trying to decipher his father’s work. Eden MacKenzie enters suddenly, and Mohinder draws a gun on her until he recognizes that she’s not a threat. She’s brought him macaroni, as she used to do for his father. Mohinder rages about not understanding his father’s work, Mr. Bennet’s purpose, and the map, then throws the laptop across the room. Eden notices a book has fallen out of it. It’s a small notebook and contains notes, formulae, an unmarked key and Sylar’s address.
- Sylar’s apartment, Queens. Mohinder’s here to find out why Sylar killed his father. When Sylar proves to not be home, he and Eden break in. They find a dark but obsessively neat apartment. Mohinder takes pictures. They also find a copy of Chandra’s book, a medical text showing an open skull with brain and a hidden room as cluttered and disorganized as the rest of the apartment is neat. It contains jars, books and a map like Chandra’s but with many more pins, some of them holding photographs of people, and connecting strings. A closet off this room is covered in graffiti, which repeats the words “forgive me father, for I have sinned,” hundreds of times.
- Mohinder and Eden lead police into the apartment, but it is empty. The secret room is empty and the graffiti gone. Mohinder looks back at Eden in disbelief.
Episode 1x04 - "Collision"
- Mohinder Suresh seeks out Nathan Petrelli to warn him about Sylar and a possible assassination attempt Sylar might make. Nathan blows Mohinder off, and goes to find Peter, his brother, in the assumption that Peter brought Mohinder to him.
- Mohinder, after his rejection from Nathan, begins to doubt himself and decides to give up the search for those with abilities. Luckily that's when Peter decides to show up at the door. Eden, Mohinder's conveniant next door neighbor, convinces him to stick around and listen to Peter. Peter admits to not having any powers on his own and tries to figure out a way to prove his abilities to Mohinder. Finally settling on seeing Isaac, the only other person with abilities that he knows in the city, as Nathan is in Las Vegas.
- After a failed attempt to see Isaac, Mohinder and Peter are on the subway train, when it suddenly stops along with all of the inhabitants on the train. Then a Hiro Nakamura from the future drops in, he's older, speaks english, carries a katana, and now sports a fashionable soul patch, and after reminiscing that Peter looks different without his scar, tells Peter that he has a message for him.
Episode 1x05 - "Hiros"
- Interior, Subway Car, New York. Mohinder’s voiceover talks about the migration of genes in times of crisis. Future Hiro approaches Peter while the other passengers and the car itself are frozen in time. He doesn’t have much time to give Peter a message because he’s risking “a rift” as it is. Peter has to save the cheerleader. Isaac can show him how. When Hiro calls, Peter must tell him where they meet. Peter had told Hiro many times how lost he felt before it all started. Now is what Peter has been waiting for, and he must be “the one we need.” Peter’s confused, but nods and tries to coax more out of Hiro as Hiro walks away. Hiro says “Save the cheerleader, save the world.” Time flows back into the car, leaving Peter shouting at someone who’s no longer there. Mohinder approaches, concerned.
- Subway car, New York. Peter explains all that he saw to Mohinder, who is skeptical. He thinks Peter is crazy, and becomes convinced of it when Peter mentions saving the cheerleader. Peter desperately tries to convince Mohinder to accompany him back to Isaac’s place where Hiro promised they’ll find some answers. If they find nothing there, Peter will drive him to the airport and let him fly back to India, where Mohinder will never hear from Peter again. Mohinder asks, “Will you fly me there yourself?” He believes there are no answers to be found, tells Peter to go home, and leaves.
Episode 1x06 - "Better Halves"
- Suresh apartment, Brooklyn. Eden pets Mohinder (the lizard) while Mohinder (the man) packs. He tells her what happened on the train, how Peter went from calm to crazy in a snap because he said some time traveler had visited him. Eden thinks he should keep an open mind, and consider the possibility that Peter was telling the truth. Mohinder dismisses the idea. He’s going to go back to India, scatter his father’s ashes and get on with his life. Eden believes Mohinder can’t let his father’s work die with him, and that he’ll be back so she won’t even say goodbye. Mohinder thanks her and leans in to kiss her on the cheek. She turns her head and turns it into a serious kiss. Mohinder, flustered, says his goodbyes and leaves the apartment.
Episode 1x07 - "Nothing to Hide"
- Mohinder doesn't appear in this episode.
Episode 1x08 - "Seven Minutes to Midnight"
- The chapter begins with Chandra Memorial Service, and his ashes are scattered. His mother tells Mohinder not to be sad because his father is at peace now. Mohinder cries on her shoulder. He notices, Mira, presumingly a former girlfriend of his at the service. Mrs. Suresh mentions that she recently returned to town and she askes her son if he is returning to NY. Mohinder mentions that there isn't anything left for him in NY is planning to stay.
- Nirad is glad that Mohinder has decided to stay in India. He suggests that Mohinder can take over his father's old office. He didn't cancel Mohinder's classes and he is welcome to continue the professorship at Chennai University when the term begins the following week.
- Mira shows up at Chandra's old office to pay her respects. She applogizes about how she ridiculed Mohinder's father's research and hopes it can now be water under the bridge. She got promoted. She is now head of research at a genetics company and offers Mohinder a job, but Chandra's theories must be stay locked away in a box. Mohinder does not decide at this time. Mira awaits the answer and leaves. "Good-bye Mira." "Good-bye Mohinder." Mohinder looks over at Chandra's computer. "Do you want to quit?"
- Mohinder finds a key in his father's office and then has a flashback dream about Chandra. They are arguing about his findings. Mohinder believes Chandra's plan to go to NYC to find these people with abilities as a "fool's errand" and that Doctors in America end up becoming Cabbies.
- The scene then flashes to Chandra and his wife and the discussion is Mohinder. "I just don't want him to hate me." "I am not sure if he doesn't hate you already. He will never take her place her eyes." Mohinder is very curious on who this "she" is.
- Next, Mohinder runs into a boy with a soccer ball before waking up.
- Mohinder tells his mother about the dream. He wants to know if it she true. It is. And he wants to know who she meant when she said, "He will never take her place in her eyes." Mohinder finds out that he had a sister, Shanti, who died at the age of 5, two years after Mohinder was born. They never told Mohinder because Chandra loved her very much and they did not want Mohinder to compare the love. Since Shanti was born, Chandra was sure that she was specail. And she was specail.
- Mohinder runs into the dream kid again and follows him. The scene turns into a flashback of Chandra's death. He is in a taxi-cab in NYC being beated by a man, who is presumely Sylar. He is strangled and knocked againist the cab window a few times. Sylar's watch is smashed and the time reads "11:53 PM" as it appears to be night. The time is a reference to the Doom's Day Clock. After this replay of Chandra's death is shown, Mohinder follows the boy, who has something clasped in his hand. Mohinder follows the boy as if in a trance and the boy reveals the same key Mohinder found earlier. Mohinder takes the key and awakes in Chandra's office. He takes out the real key and ponders it. Mohinder opens a drawer and files a file on a "Sanjer, Iyer", who is the kid from the dream.
- Mohinder ends the episode with the following freaky and crypt message... (Voiceover) You can run far, you can take your small precautions, but have you really gotten away? Can you ever escape? Or is the truth that you do not have the strength or cunning to hide from destiny? But the world is not small, you are... and fate can find you anywhere.
