After reading Ulysses' recap of the finale (it rocks as usual, check it out!) I felt like posting a quick round of shout-outs to some members of this site. Well to all of the members of this site actually.

Season 1 of Heroes was great, there is no doubt about it. But for me, the truly awesome part about the show is coming here and reading your theories, fan fictions and heated (but always friendly) debates. I just wanted to say thank you to all of our 4,000 + registered members. It is all of you who make this site what it is.

I also wanted to individually thank some people who have gone above and beyond with their contributions to the website.

Without the following people, a lot of the content and features of this site wouldn't be possible:

Ulysses - Thanks for the awesome episode recaps week after week!
Hero - Thanks for the countless news stories, spoilers, graphic novel easter eggs and more. In all Hero has submitted 84 Heroes related news stories!
Leob - Thanks for helping to moderate the forums! There are a lot of forums on the web, but few are as friendly and fun as ours!

Thanks to the other top contributors of Heroes related news, posts and scoops:

WingsStef, BigJon, MorFeuS, uprazer, totalrequest, Halon-Hiro, GuestStar, dissident75, godzilla2000, SAW, lefty, and everyone else!

We'll continue pumping out the Heroes related spoilers, buzz and news during the summer break. I hope you are halfway as excited about Season 2 as I am! Until next time, see you in the forums!

In an attempt to keep the Character Profiles section of the website updated (if you haven't noticed they haven't been updated in quite a while), we have changed the way they work.

Now the Character Profiles are set up as a Wiki. This means that every member of Heroes-TV.com now has the ability to add/edit content found on those pages.

If you are interested in contributing to the Character Profile section of the site, simply navigate to a page you would like to add to and click the "edit" button!

Yesterday on his Sirius Sattelite radio show, Howard Stern was discussing T.V. Show fan community web sites and how geeky they are. If you aren't a Stern fan, then you might take offense to his comments. Although, anyone who listens to his show regularly will tell you that his mention of this website is actually a compliment.

If you happen to be perusing the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine you might catch a mention of this site in the Internet section.

WHAT IT IS
Billed self referentially as the place "where ordinary people can be extraordinary fans," this is the must-click Cliff Notes for all things Heroes. In addition to standbys like episode guides, character profiles and photos of Ali Larter's gams, the site blogs to vital ephemera you'd miss - such as transcripts from a Hollywood panel in which the show creators explain why their serial won't lose the plot like Lost. Site creator Paul Scott goes out of his way to remain as unaffiliated with the show as possible -- unlike what he calls the "fake fan site," 9th Wonders, which is tied to the show. "This can be a problem when it comes to having freedom to discuss opinions that may be negative," Scott says.

HIGHLIGHTS The "Heroes Talk" section of the fan forum is the place to post about Sylar's cell or posit why Hiro lost his powers.

Wow I sure come off as slamming the 9th Wonders site. That isn't exactly what I was going for when answering the question "what makes Heroes-TV.com different than other fan sites?" I hope I didn't too terribly offend.

If you hadn't noticed, the Characters section of the site is horribly outdated. The level of detail and info we want to keep on each character is such that it is impossible for one person to maintain on a regular basis.

With this in mind we are going to be creating a Heroes Character WiKi. The idea is that the Heroes fan community as a whole can help contribute to and maintain the character information.

We are looking for a few people to help out with the intial steps of the Wiki as well as future moderation. If you would be interested in helping out in the early stages, please us the contact form and let us know.

Site Related : "Heroes Hits the Streets" Global Event Contest

Posted by HeroesFan on 2006/12/19 9:20:00 (1067 reads)

Here's How...
As of now until January 15th, 2007, we encourage all of you to create and take pictures of public Heroes reference. From the helix symbol scrawled in a book to "Save the cheerleader" graffitied on the side of a building to giant picket signs asking people if they're "on the list"... we'll take them all. We don't care whether you made the artwork or just happened upon it and snapped a photo.

All pictures submitted will be displayed on our gallery and many of the major Heroes forums out there. On January 15th, 2007, we'll pick out our favorite photos and let you all vote on the winners for some special prizes.

But remember: the prizes aren't the point! Mainly, we want to encourage all of you to get out there and let out that inner Tyler Durden. You are an individual snowflake and you are an ordinary person with extraordinary tastes in TV shows.
