The following is an excerpt from Kristen at E!'s column
Quote: I asked Hayden what she wants for Claire. Here's what she told me: "This show has been so broad, and it's been such an incredible thing that it seems like it can go anywhere and that she can go anywhere, so I'd like to see a change of location maybe. Toward the end of the season, I'd like to see her get a little bit of a change of style—more sophisticated, growing into her own. I'd like to see a boy in the horizon somewhere, which I've heard rumors of." Ooh-la-la!
In other spoilerific news from the same column Quote: But the good news is the cast actually starts filming new episodes next week, so spoilers are starting to leak out! I'm hearing a bit of The Black Donnellys may have rubbed off on Heroes, as they're welcoming a new recurring character named Will, aka Blackie, an Irish mobster who's mixed up in small-time crime!
And this tid-bit which we have known for a while, but I'll re-post it anyway. Quote: I'm hearing we'll meet a new character who's been alive for 1,000 years. And sadly, he will not be played by David Boreanaz. I'm pretty sure it's the character David Anders is in the running for, but not sure.
We usually try to keep spoilers off the main page, but these are far from confirmed and don't really deal with story lines or plot arcs so I think we are in the clear. |

This is almost (*gasp*) two weeks old, but I found a fun article/podcast involving Stargate Digital, who was the main Visual Effects company for HEROES. The article is here, and the pics are fun to see, imo. Just a teaser of an excerpt to follow, since the full images help explain what you see better than what I've posted:Quote: Heroes is shot nearly entirely in Los Angeles with the exception of a small hand full of shots, yet the shows characters travel from India to NY - both now and in the future. To achieve this the production worked with Stargate Digital. In this week's podcast we speak with VFX Supervisor Mark Kolpack and Supervising Producer Mark Spatny about Stargate Digital's work on the NBC television series Heroes...
...Early on, the show had to deal with flying characters. VFX Supervisor Mark Kolpack wanted to produce feature film level effects and to improve on the normal solutions for flying. While some wire work is still done as in the shots above, they worked on new approaches. The show started doing full body scans and producing digital doubles to allow for more believeable flying sequences in the show. While initally considered a gamble, many of the actors have now been scanned and digital doubles are used as a standard part of the visual effects tools at the team's disposal....
Below are the full-size images of the before, additonal elements, and after shots of ground zero, with the requisite links back to flickr: Ground Zero, before and full-size imageOther image elements and full-size imageGround Zero, final and full-size image |

Anyone following the off season Heroes buzz knows that some new roles have been revealed and their casting is still unknown, but that doesn't stop the rumors. And we love rumors .. don't we?
Miss Universe Riyo Mori had this to say
Quote: She said she is hoping to devote herself to her new role -- which includes acting as a spokeswoman for AIDS issues -- and is also looking for a possible role on the TV series "Heroes," broadcast by NBC, which has rights to the Miss Universe pageant.
"As soon as I won Miss Universe I had this big chance," Mori, who teaches jazz dance at her mother's studio in Shizuoka near Mount Fuji, said. "I've never acted before. I went to the casting audition and read a script in English and Japanese, and they said it was really good. So I hope I can be in the show."
Mori said her role would be "Yaeko," a love interest for one of the main characters. Source: meevee |

After reading Ulysses' recap of the finale (it rocks as usual, check it out!) I felt like posting a quick round of shout-outs to some members of this site. Well to all of the members of this site actually.
Season 1 of Heroes was great, there is no doubt about it. But for me, the truly awesome part about the show is coming here and reading your theories, fan fictions and heated (but always friendly) debates. I just wanted to say thank you to all of our 4,000 + registered members. It is all of you who make this site what it is.
I also wanted to individually thank some people who have gone above and beyond with their contributions to the website.
Without the following people, a lot of the content and features of this site wouldn't be possible:
Ulysses - Thanks for the awesome episode recaps week after week! Hero - Thanks for the countless news stories, spoilers, graphic novel easter eggs and more. In all Hero has submitted 84 Heroes related news stories! Leob - Thanks for helping to moderate the forums! There are a lot of forums on the web, but few are as friendly and fun as ours!
Thanks to the other top contributors of Heroes related news, posts and scoops:
WingsStef, BigJon, MorFeuS, uprazer, totalrequest, Halon-Hiro, GuestStar, dissident75, godzilla2000, SAW, lefty, and everyone else!

Heroes 1.23: How To Stop an Exploding Man
Over a montage of scenes from all over the season, Mohinder rambles on about the whys and wherefores of life, wondering at last who will share it with us.
Everything takes place in Manhattan.
Linderman's office, Kirby Plaza. In a replay from last episode, Niki/Jessica chooses family over money and D.L. chooses a bullet while Linderman chooses death by taking his eye off an injured man. The last thing on his mind is a bloody fist. D.L. crumples. Niki catches him on the way down and wonders why he'd take a bullet when he could have phased through it. D.L. demands she leave him and get out, but it's too late. They hear running feet, shouts and pounding on the office door. D.L. has to get them out of there by phasing through the wall. Although he's not sure he can do it, he takes them out just as Linderman's bodyguards bust into the room. |

Deveaux: "In the end, all that really matters is love."
This was the pay-off. Was it worth the wait? Well, yes, pretty much.
It was all about the full circle. The series began with Peter jumping off the roof and Nathan saving him, and it ended in much the same way. I think Nathan had already decided to let the explosion happen so that he could become the leader of the free world. What finally changed his mind? It was probably a lot of things, but in the end, I think it was what Claire said to him, and seeing Claire so determined to save Peter that she jumped out a window. Nathan loved Peter so much that he couldn't let him be responsible for the death of so many. His sacrifice was very powerful, and brought me to tears.
I was expecting bodies everywhere, and I was surprised that the only character we apparently lost was Nathan. Nathan was an outstanding character; I spent the entire first season wondering what he would ultimately do. I'm assuming that Peter will indeed reassemble and fly home. (He'd better, because he's my favorite character.) It's certainly possible that Nathan left Peter in the air and got to a minimum safe distance. Matt, Candice and DL are on the critical list; we'll see. Even Ando made it, and I thought for sure that he was headed for the big Star Trek Convention in the sky. |

How able is DAVID ANDERS? Able enough to play the role of KANE next season on "HEROES". The "Alias" actor has been rumored to be the producers first choice for the part and will join the cast for an undisclosed amount of episodes.
Anders, who played Sark another one name character on ABC's "Alias" in 56 episodes, will be re-teamed with Greg Grunberg who was also a regular on the series as CIA agent Eric Weiss .

The finale of Heroes left us with Hiro (Masi Oka) having teleported to a distant past (sources say he will stay there for a few episodes) and Nathan apparently dead after exploding with his brother Peter in the air. Here is what the actors have to say about the future of their characters and the show.
Quote: "I feel good about the direction it's heading in," said Pasdar. "I think it's across the boards surprising for each character and for each audience member, whoever their favourite character is. It takes a wildly different arc then you might think. Season Two is going to be a big surprise."
-Adrian Pasdar
Quote: "Hiro made a promise that he'll be back. Hiro is beginning his journey in the second season and he'll be by himself for a while but I'm sure we'll see [Ando] in some context so I wouldn’t count it out,"
-Masi Oka
One would think that Adrian and Masi are pretty recognizable celebrities these days, but apparently that isn't the case. Quote: "Masi and I were in New York a few weeks ago and we had the opportunity to go to Times Square and I had a little video camera and it was 8 o'clock on Saturday night and I said, 'Masi you have to go to the middle of Times Square and do the Yata scene,'" Pasdar said.
"So we go there in the middle of Times Square; we couldn’t have been more invisible. I was walking around him taking a picture, he's spinning around and he does the Yata, and nobody puts it together. And this fellow walks up to him and says, 'can you take a picture of me?' So Masi takes the picture. He was completely oblivious."

Tim Kring, the man behind Heroes has inked a new two-year deal with NBC. The new deal includes Kring's involvement as executive producer on Heroes as well as the new spin-off Heroes: Origins and new projects that he will help to develop.
Quote: Kring told The Hollywood Reporter that he has gone "from showrunner who oversees writing and production on a show to a person managing a brand and everything involved in that," adding that he "relies heavily" on his team to manage the Heroes entity.
Katherine Pope, who only days ago was named president of NBCU Television Studio, is a long-time friend of Kring.
"He is a brilliant writer, and he also runs one of the tightest ships in town," Pope told the Reporter, explaining: "The reason this deal is so important to us is because of Tim's absolutely extraordinary ability to write all types of characters with such authenticity. He can find the humanity in the characters and everything he writes."
