NBC Universal has cut a deal with Intel in which individuals who own Viiv PCs will be able to download and view certain programs before they air on the network, according to Merlin Kister, director of consumer client marketing for Intel.
...
Intel CEO Paul Otellini said yesterday that NBC will let Viiv users download "Heroes" and "Studio 60 on Sunset Strip," but it is uncertain whether Viiv owners will get these shows first.

Anyone who has done any online search about Heroes will know that the blogosphere is full of Heroes related buzz. The majority are pro Heroes, some completely hate it for various reasons and some just like to rant about stuff for no reason at all.
For example: Since episode 2 - "Don't Look Back" aired on Monday night, we have received over a dozen emails from disgruntled viewers about how upset they are over seeing people's heads cut open. Apparently they are so fuming mad over the issue that they don't take time to notice that this is a fan site and we have no relation to NBC whatsoever (just like it says at the bottom of every page).
So far the haters have been making the most noise over these issues:
Heroes is an X-men rip off
Graphic sexual content (Niki's strip tease)
Graphic violent content (Claire's mutilation, depiction of murders)
Racial issues ("how come there are no black Heroes", "how come the only black Hero has to be a prisoner", etc)
Show's pacing (not everyone is into the slow unfolding serial)
Oh yeah, and hard core comic book fans aren't letting the misnumbered X-men reference slip by without notice
That pretty much sums up the major complaints/arguments that are floating around on various forums, blogs and chat rooms.
Newsarama has a point/counterpoint discussion right now, which attempts to address some of these issues. I think you will find much better arguments in our fan forum compared to the comments that have been left there so far.
Well you can get the Niki cover online, no not from ebay but from Wizarduniverse.com They are selling the Niki cover for $24.99 plus shipping. If you type in Heroes in the coupon area you get 5% off. I ordered one and it came to $29.73, which is alot better then $149.00 that it was going for on ebay. Here's the link.. get them while they last.
In this post is the link to the smaller swf version of the promo, which you can see when you hover over the arrow in the swf ad, but NBC has now added the video to youtube.
(Rhetorical question) Wasn't radiation-hands guy in the director's cut of the pilot (although some plotlines have changed since then)? Wonder when we'll get to see him?

Thanks to the lawsuit filled against NBC by garbage disposal manufacturer Emerson all future airings of the Pilot will have the "Claire vs. garbage disposal" scene cut out.
Rather than head to court and fight the suit, NBC decided to simply cut the scene. Network officials said:

"While we do not believe there is any legal issue with the episode as originally broadcast, we nonetheless have decided to edit the episode for future uses."

The once and future lawyer though he has trouble admidting it, is becoming quite the Heroes fan. Here is his latest blog post about Episode two. Don't let the obvious negativity fool you, read between the lines to find a Heroes lover at heart.
Quote:
... Conclusion: The end of the episode at least starts to tie the semblance of a television-worthy plot together. I hope they do a better job with the character development next week, and I think the psychic cop?s character has the potential of bringing them all together once Hiro can bust him out of prison. Assuming that this snag remedies itself in the first few scenes of next week?s episode, it appears the Fly and his brother may be sharing the ?central character to the plot? role with the psychic cop (nickname forthcoming).
Addendum (Gripe one): Somehow the writers forgot that cheerleaders don?t practice on the football field, and most coaches frown upon non-athletes walking through practice. If you?re going to have a high school storyline, Dawson?s Creek is not the model to use and neither is Saved by the Bell. I can only assume that whoever scripted this must have dreamed of being an athlete because they certainly didn?t get it right. And fyi, the cheerleaders in high school generally wear their uniforms on days of football, basketball games, key wrestling matches, or pep rallies, not for practice.
If Heroes is going to keep going with this high school storyline, and I?m not saying they should or should not, I suggest the writers hire the varsity club president of some local high school to help consult with them during his or her offseason or get him or her to make a recommendation of someone who can make the show's portrayal of high school a little more believable. The last thing we need on tv is another Laguna Beach, since that's real life. I saw that Heroes is produced by ?Tailwind productions," which uses a pole vaulter for their icon, which is great. On the assumption that this company must have some roots in track & field, then I'm going to assume further that someone connected to the show participated in *varsity* athletics at the high school or college level, and they must be insulted by this misleading portrayal of high school life/sports.
Other observations: I must have seen three or four x-men commercials. Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one? Aren?t they trying to distinguish Heroes from X-Men?
