Godsend Commentary: Whoa is not Enough

Chapter 12: Godsend.

OMG. This episode was beyond awesome.

I just finally been able to talk about this episode and breathe. On the back from work today, my mom and I had a very detailed conversation.

I believe she needed a re-hash of some episodes, but other than that it was going real smoothly.

It has been two long weeks since the Fallout of the murder of a Union Wells High School cheerleader. Which is almost seems kind compared to the seven weeks we had to suffer through.

However, the cruelty is apparent in the first scene.

The story begins in a hospital in New York City. Peter appears to be in a coma, and both Nathan and Angela Petrelli seem absolutely devastated.

A visiting Simone, comments that Peter is burning up.

Peter has been a persistent idiopathic fever, which Angella erupts; basically the doctors have no idea what is wrong. She flew in four of the best doctors in the world just for them to tell her that they don't know what they are doing in four different languages.

Nathan add that the doctors don't know how much more Peter's heart can take.

A nearly hysterical Angela professes "He's 26 years-old, and he is going to die of a heart attack."

"He is not going to die Ma", Nathan replies.

"He will unless I do something about it."

"Let the doctors do what they do!"

Angela leaves, which allows Nathan to talk to Simone in a more frank matter. Simone mentions she wishes what really was going on inside Peter's head, and Nathan mentions that befor Peter passed out he said he thought he was absorbing too many powers. Simone looks a way and says a relays that she believes that Peter needed to see the painting.

Nathan states "He is my brother and I love him, but we both know he shouldn't even have been there. Do you believe in all that. Saving the world?"

"Peter believes it. And I believe in him."

"Fine," Nathan resigns. "Show me. Bring me to Isaac. I have been in this hospital room for two weeks waiting for something to happen. I will be damned if I just sit here and watch my brother die. Show me what is worth all this."

Nathan stands up and picks up his coat, but before he leaves, he bends over and kisses Peter on his cheek.

"I love you man."

Nathan and Simone arrive at the gallery to be surprised to see Isaac and his paintings back. Simone glad that Isaac appears healthy. Isaac explains how he was in Texas and woke up clean, and that it was all because of the love he had with her. Nathan decides to leave the two reconnecting lovers to check out the paintings, where he is greatly disturbed by two pictures in particular: the picture of a man exploding, and the picture of Peter jumping off the roof. He ask how Issac knew about the bomb and if he had talked to Peter. That before Peter collasped he said that he was the cause of the explosion. Isaac also very sad about this. Nathan says that he might not understand everything but he knows the world doesn't work like this. The two paintings can not be connected. It seems more like he doesn't want this to be true.

The three of them are then interrupted by Hiro and Ando. They were at the National History Museum in attempt to acquire the Takezo Kensei sword that has that crazy symbol. Ando figures out that it is a combination of characters Godsend, great power....

The sword that Isaac painted at the end of Fallout is not at the museum, yet an replica. Linderman has the real one.

This begins a very amusing sequence

Nathan: Did he just say Linderman?

Hiro: Flying Man!

Nathan and Hiro catch up. Hiro credits is better English to Charlie, a waitress in Texas that taught him many things. Nathan congratulated him on this. Nathan doesn't want to believe it but asks Hiro if he "Teleported Back to the Future". Hiro explains that his power brought him back to stop the explosion and that Nathan's power will help too. Nathan wonders how he is so sure.

"Because you are flying man."

"Shh!"

Nathan asks Hiro about his take on the exploding man. "I have power. You have power. Maybe he has power too."

"What do you think sets the bomb thing off?"

"Perhaps a bad guy? Like a billian..."

Well, this sends off another humorous line of dialoge.

Concerned about Peter's welfare Nathan agrees to help.

Poor Niki is in jail and it looks like Jessica beat up some guard. From how the guard was talking like an idiot, he probably deserved it. I sure wouldn't taunt crazy. What is that guy's problem? Is he insane in the membrane? Oh geez what did I just do? Ha ha

Her lawyer mentions that they want to give her the death penalty. Jessica decides to play crazy, and the lawyer says that is a hard sell. Why? Niki isn't delusional, but she definitely isn't sane either.

DL adjusts to being a single parent. Some dude shows up and says that the charges against him have all been dropped but when money is mentioned, it is clear that he is a Linderman stooge.

Niki gets her shrink, and ends up in straight jacket, drugged, and on the floor

She cries out for God to help her, and Jessica replies, "Who needs God when you have me?"

Meanwhile, the other crazy in this story, Sylar, is also lying on the floor, in a drugged up stupor. A cockroach is swimming in his drool. Hmmm....connection to an infamous line in the pilot perhaps?

The FBI finally follow up on Mohinder's list. Which says more than that Redhead that won't believe Matt. She boasts her superiorty so much that Audrey also takes thing out on Matt, who decides it might finally be time to check on Janice. He tells her that he can read thoughts. She is skeptical. He asks her to pick a number from 1 to a million. We have yet seen the result of that challenge.

Mohinder and the Man in the Horned Rimmed Glasses have a conversation about the list. Mohinder correctly guesses that his late father knew more than Mr. Bennett did. H.R.G. is either getting sloppy or over-confident because Matt is starting to put things together as well. Neither want to trust Mohinder. I am looking forward to Mohinder and Nathan getting together in a future episode. Because he doesn't trust the Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses either. Now Peter needs to put two and two together and tell HRG to get bent when they run into each other as well. The cure is not what you think! I don't think HRG is an evil guy. But I sure don't trust him either.

Peter has a new version of his Fallout nightmare. A new character is introduced, a man that appears to be in the shadows. Also in this new version, Nathan and Peter have a conversation.

"Nathan! I observed his powers. I can't control it."

We see these powers in Nevada, where Ted is practicing making fire-like explosion projections from his hands. More on Ted in my graphic novel commentary.

"Let me help you Peter."

"You can't."

"I'm not leaving you."

And no more than a couple seconds later, Peter explodes once again. And in a really freaky twist, Nathan, Simone, and then the others are all atomized. Unsurprisingly, this causes Peter to wake up in a Night Terror fashion.

He skips the hospital AMA, and heads out to the streets. We see him on a cell phone making a reservation for Las Vegas. Ack! No! Ummm...safer to stay in New York honey... But then he sees something that interests him much more greatly. It's the mystery man from his vision.

Peter chases this man down calling out for him.

"How can you see me? No one sees me! I'm invisible."

Apparently so is Peter. Claude the mystery man has Peter in a headlock a Rated I DVD vendor gets knocked down. I thought that was amusing. Take that you pirate you! But, I really hope Mystery Man calms down soon because Peter is still rather flush. Geez. No break Peter, huh?

Meanwhile Nathan returns to Peter's hospital room to see Peter gone.

"Where is he?" he asks their mother.

"He woke up. He was raving. I sitting by his bedside for two weeks, thinking he could die. And when he gets up, he tells me that he has to get away..."

Nathan cuts her off, "He woke up?" "...You let him go?"

"No! I did not let him go," Angela retorts. "And when I find him, I will kill him."

Nathan assures Angela that he will take care of it and tells her to go home and rest.

Whoa. I am so happy Heroes is back. Whoohoo!
