Zachary Quinto : Zachary Quinto Gives 'Heroes' The Credit For Spock Roll

As every "Heroes" or "Star Trek" fan surely knows by now, Zachary Quinto (Sylar) will be playing the roll of Spock in the upcoming Star Trek movie.

Here is a snip from an interview with trekmovie.com

TrekMovie.com: Was [Heroes co-star] Greg [Grunberg] involved at all in this process?

Zachary Quinto: I don’t really know. Greg and J.J. go back to kindergarten and I am sure they have had a conversation about it. I am sure Greg came to my aide as a character reference. I certainly extended my gratitude to Greg for his support through this process as I extend it to the entire Heroes crew. I mean I would not be able to do this and in this situation if it wasn’t for Heroes and that isn’t lost on me. The fact that Tim [Kring] and Dennis [Hammer] and Allan [Arkush] got behind this idea from the beginning. Tim and I had one talk about this in Paris a couple months ago and he got behind it and stayed behind it and that is why it is happening.

I remember when they planned hte academy series and it was canned they said a possiblity of a movie. TOS wasnt something i really watched. TNG, VOY, DS9 were the ones from when i was growing up. TOS was before my time.

Given Zachary Quinto's age this movie has to take place shortly after the end of "Enterprise" (and the signing of the Accords) or right at the start of The United Federation of Planets. Spock was old and had already served on several starships before joining Starfleet and being assigned to the Enterprise A.
