Apparently the episodes of 'Heroes' airing on the UK's BBC Two network aren't exactly the same as those which aired here in the U.S.

A Heroes-TV.com reader submitted the following:

Just writing to inform you that cuts were made in the airing of the first episode of Heroes on BBC Two in the UK.

In particular, the opening sequence with the scrolling information (In recent days... etc), the part of the scene where Peter talks to his mum whilst walking down the stairs from picking her up after her shoplifting, and where Claire tells her mother "I walked through fire and didn't get burned" as well as asking about her real parents were cut.

It's part that got me so worked up when I found out chapter 10 was called "Six Months Ago". Too many clues maybe? Hmm... Of course it is for timing but interesting scenes to cut out...

Episode 2 was unaffected, but the strange thing was that after the episode they aired a background thing on heroes for 10 minutes. They could have easily aired that on BBC 3 like they do most other behind the scenes (eg behind doctor who) and just aired the whole pilot without cuts.

The bit in the lecture room where he talks about cockroaches and the bit in the taxi with Peter where he explains his theory on evolution!
