Thanks to the lawsuit filled against NBC by garbage disposal manufacturer Emerson all future airings of the Pilot will have the "Claire vs. garbage disposal" scene cut out.

Rather than head to court and fight the suit, NBC decided to simply cut the scene. Network officials said:

Quote:

"While we do not believe there is any legal issue with the episode as originally broadcast, we nonetheless have decided to edit the episode for future uses."

That's so ridiculous. You would think it would be cool to sell the garbage disposal featured in the first episode of a potentially smash hit series. What, people are going to decide not to buy that model because a superhero stood up against it? Sheesh. The stupidity of corporate culture never ceases to amaze.

Not me, I was too busy being grossed out by her hand. But not once would it have occurred to me, "Gosh, I guess I shouldn't stick my hand down that disposal model -- but another model, I could do that and be just fine!" <g>

I don't think the model was ever showed. It's not like they zoomed in under the sink or anything and they sure as heck don't put the label on the inside.

On a side note, how dumb do you have to be to stick you're hand in a garbage disposal while it is still RUNNING!!! She couldn't turn it off first?
Thus adding to the stereotypes of dippy cheerleaders.

I agree. If Claire wants to be "normal". Stop doing stupid things that require your abnormal powers to fix.

Next, there will be lawsuits over the using the car that she injured/killed? the quarterback in!!!
