Zachary Quinto : From Sylar To Star Trek?

In what probably gives a whole new meaning to "Spock's Brain," Zachary Quinto -- who amazed (and scared) audiences with his portrayal of the evil Sylar in the NBC series "Heroes" -- told Starburst magazine that he hopes producers of the upcoming Star Trek movie give him a ring.
"When the news about the next Star Trek movie began to surface, I became inundated with e-mails and links to Web sites where people were saying, 'Zach Quinto should play [young] Spock," said the actor, according to the most recent issue of Starburst that hit newsstands in the United Kingdom this week. "I started opening myself up to the idea and I think the exploration and immersion to be done with such a character would be amazing."

While casting rumors have been running rampant, several actors have expressed a desire to take on reimagined roles of Star Trek's greatest figures that include Capt. James T. Kirk, Spock and Dr. McCoy. While a lot of interest from various actors has more to do with how much they are a fan of the science-fiction franchise, Quinto says his interest is far more professional ... and logical.

"I tend to be a type of person who acts from a very visceral place and reacts emotionally to situations, and to 'become' a character that is completely the opposite of that is one of the reasons why I am an actor," Quinto said. "I would love the opportunity to understand what it is to only operate from a place of logic and look at things so specifically from that perspective."

It is still unclear if Quinto will have some extra time in his schedule this fall as his fate seems to be undetermined for the second season of the hit NBC series, which will return in the fall.

I wasn't even really looking forward to this movie but if he's on it then I'd be very happy to see it!!

As long as it doesn't make him leave Heroes...

LOL, I read this at work earlier, but I got called away because someone blew up a coke bottle so I didn't comment. LOL

Spock's Brain...stupidest episode ever.

Lol but Zach would do a good Spock.

last I heard they're working off the script JJ Abrams wrote.
Where JJ goes, childhood friend GREG GRUNBERG is sure to follow.

being 38 years old , i have grown up watching star trek , from a trekie point of view , i think it would WTFOwn to have zack as young spock (pardon the french). He was "good" (not awesome IMO) as Sylar, but i can really see this happening, this would be good for star trek (getting someone who is now as recognized as zack now is) and for zack (as far as his cureer), its a win win situation. IMO he would play Spock just as good if not better then L.Nemoy. The more i think about it , the more i think the role is made for him (even his premakeup appearance). He should do this even if it cuts into Heroes (though I will miss him), though in all honesty I think he is bound by contract to Heroes, but Tim Kring may alow it due to yet more exposure to Heroes.

BTW Klingon makeup takes 6-8 hours (yes hours) to put on. Vulcan takes 1-2.

I'm pretty sure Michael Dorn said they got his "WORF" make-up down to about two hours.

Then again, that was an almost daily thing with a regular make-up crew for...7y NG + 4-5?y DS9 = 11-12 years of doing Worf, PLUS ST6 (as Worf's grandfather). I can see them streamlining his make-up to two hours.
